The control may have various features including: sending warnings if the battery voltage falls below a threshold; storing accumulated values of running times of the vehicle; identifying and reporting malfunctioning battery chargers; sending emergency messages; emitting an audio or visual alarm to alert a user that an emergency message has been received; a tilt device to detect if a vehicle has fallen over; detecting unauthorised disconnection of the control.
