A sway bar system 100 is described. The sway bar system includes a sway bar 12 having a first end and a second end. The sway bar system further includes a first electronically controlled damper link 14L which is coupled to the first end of the sway bar. The first electronically controlled damper link is configured to be coupled a first location of a vehicle. The sway bar system also has a second link 14R which is coupled to the second end of the sway bar. The second link is configured to be coupled a second location of the vehicle. The sway bar system may comprise a cylinder (28, see fig. 2a), a piston (25), a fluid reservoir (26), a gas chamber (27) and an internal floating piston (33), wherein a valve (200) fluidly coupled to the damper cylinder and fluid reservoir may adjust a flow area for adjusting the damping characteristics. The sway bar system may be coupled proximate to a vehicle wheel, suspension or axle.
