A fan module 1 with variable-pitch blades 5 for a propulsion system 2 includes a rotor 3 supporting the blades, and an internal shaft 10 and an external shroud 11, defining between them a space 14. An upstream axial end 12 of the shaft is connected to an upstream axial end 13 of the shroud. A pitch control device 22 of the blades is located in the space and includes a load transfer bearing (28, fig 2). A blade feathering device 38 includes at least one lever 40 that is articulated around a fixed axis A in relation to the rotor. The lever has a first end (41, fig 7) located outside the space, and a second end (42, fig 7) located inside the space. A flyweight 43 is fastened to the first end, and the second end is coupled to the bearing. The flyweight is capable of moving into a position in which the bearing imposes a feathered position to the blades.
