A vehicle comprising motor(s), sensors and processor(s) is configured to periodically update a table with present coordinates; compare the tabled coordinates to a road intersection 300 boundary 309, 310, 311, 312; select a portion of the tabled coordinates based on the comparison; transmit the selected portion to an external unit. The coordinates may be connected (interpolated) with a continuous line, and a determination made as to whether any of the line crosses an intersection boundary 309, 310, 311, 312. The locations of the intersection 300 boundaries 309, 310, 311, 312 may be periodically downloaded from an external source. The intersections 300 may have multiple input and output lanes 301, 302, 303, 304, and a link table may be used to represent beginning and end lanes and used to generate a route. In a further aspect of the disclosure a host vehicle receives coordinates and timestamps from a first vehicle, selects values corresponding to an intersection, and determines a route and timing through the intersection based upon the selected values.
