A luggage holder 2 for use with a bicycle, the luggage holder comprising: a first u-shaped rail 4; a second u-shaped rail 6 superimposed over the first u-shaped rail 4 in a parallel relationship therewith. One of the first u-shaped rail 4 or the second u-shaped rail 6 is configured to be cantilevered from the bicycle, in particular from a saddle of a bicycle; a third u-shaped rail 16 interposed between each of the first and the second u-shaped rails 4,6. The distal ends of the first and the second u-shaped rails 4,6 and the third u-shaped rail 16 in combination define a channel 20 for receiving a tongue (21, figure 5) of a handle member (23, figure 5). The handle member 23 is configured to be securable to luggage; and, a retaining mechanism comprising a moveable member such as an arcuate spring 24 which is displaceable from a biased position by insertion or withdrawal of the tongue 21 in or from the channel 20 using a predetermined force to permit insertion or withdrawal of the tongue 21 in or from the channel 20 but which returns to the biased position to prevent withdrawal the tongue 21 from the channel 20 using a force less than the predetermined force.
