A vehicle includes light panels 102 embedded in the vehicle, wireless nodes 104, and an auxiliary body control module 108. The auxiliary body control module, when a speed of the vehicle is less than a threshold speed, monitors a distance between a wireless device 120 or 122 and the vehicle. In response to the distance satisfying a range threshold, the auxiliary body control module activates the light panels. Also included a vehicle with a sliding door (figure 2, 206), which when a first wireless device (figure 2, 202) is within a first range threshold the vehicle monitors a second wireless device (figure 2, 120) to determine it is within a second range threshold, then the vehicle opens the sliding door. There is a further independent claim which includes both features.
