The universal motor is included in a set comprising several vehicles. Each vehicle in the set comprises at least one universal motor 16 and one gearbox 18. Two of the vehicles are powered by different numbers of universal electric motors. Also claimed is a method of manufacturing a vehicle from a set of universal components comprising a universal motor and no more than three gearboxes, each with a different gear ratio. The method includes choosing an appropriate number of universal motors necessary to drive the vehicle and an appropriate gearbox or boxes. Also claimed is universal axel assembly for a vehicle comprising an axel, two wheels mounted to at least one axel, one universal motor and motor for driving the wheels and one gearbox. Also claimed is a set of universal axels comprising multiple different universal axels and different numbers of motors.
