A bracket for a vehicle chassis rail, typically for attaching an axle to a chassis of a telehandler or backhoe loader, has first, second and third planar portions 10, 20, 30 connected to a fourth planar portion 40 through respective first, second and third bends 11, 21, 31, each defining a respective bend axis. First and second planar portions 10, 20 respectively define first and second edges 14, 24 that lie in a common plane (CP, Figure 5). Third planar portion 30 has a surface 33 adjacent third bend 31, defining a plane parallel to and spaced from the common plane, and is preferably at right angles to fourth planar portion 40, while first and second planar portions 10, 20 are preferably at an angle of 45 degrees to fourth planar portion 40. Fourth planar portion 40 may have four mounting holes 49. Typically, first and second edges 14, 24 may be welded to a first side (4A1, Figure 8) of a chassis rail (4A, Figure 8), and third planar portion 30 may have an edge 34 welded to a second side (4A2, Figure 7) of the chassis rail.
