A method and apparatus to suppress low tyre pressure warnings when an aircraft (Fig.1) is in motion, and a detected pressure 30 is between a maintenance mode 24 low pressure threshold 25 and an abnormal pressure threshold 31; wherein a low tyre pressure warning 26 is issued when: the aircraft is stationary and the detected pressure is below the maintenance mode low pressure threshold; and when the aircraft is in motion and the detected pressure is below the abnormal tyre pressure threshold; the abnormal pressure threshold being lower than the maintenance mode low pressure threshold; the means comprising a display (16, Fig.1) visible by the pilot in the cockpit and a processor (12, Fig.2). The warning may comprise further instruction or operational information 32, and may be delivered to a maintenance system (27, Fig.2). Another control system of the aircraft may be notified of the detection of an abnormal low tyre pressure. The flight mode may be distinguished by the aircraft engines being turned on. The flight deck display only displays safety critical low pressure warning associated with the tyre so the flight crew is not distracted.
