A cooling system for a hybrid vehicle comprises an indirect charge air cooler 6 and an electrical device cooler 7, each in fluid communication with a common low temperature radiator 3 which has at least one variable speed fan 1b, 1c, 1e to cause air to flow through the radiator 3. A pump 4a circulates coolant fluid around the radiator 3, charge air cooler 6 and the electrical device cooler 7. Sensors 5dꞌ, 6dꞌ sense the coolant fluid temperature at the outlet of the electrical device cooler and the outlet of the charge air cooler respectively. A controller (8, Fig. 2) adjusts the speed of the pump 4a and the fan 1b, 1c, 1e according to the temperatures recorded by the temperature sensors 5dꞌ, 6dꞌ and preset threshold temperatures. The controller (8, Fig. 2) may also adjust the pump speed and fan speed according to charge air temperature sensed by sensor 6bꞌ. The charge air cooler 6 and electrical device cooler 7 may be arranged in series or parallel and a high temperature radiator may be used to cool other elements of the vehicle. A method of cooling a hybrid vehicle using the cooling system is also claimed.
