A relocation unit such as a spacecraft having means to create mass-energy density gradients within a volume of space, and having directing means, to allow the craft to relocate relative to a medium. The intended use is to allow travel through space at faster than the speed of light by inflation, expansion and contraction of space-time. The density distributing means allow warp propulsion, plasma propulsion, or photonic propulsion by various methods. The directing means may be provided by channelling heated fluid to a radiator and using the thermal radiation in a beam to carry out thrust in a set direction. An alternative directing means is provided by reversal of the polarity of the electrical current. Other directing means are also discussed. In one embodiment the spacecraft comprises a fuselage 1s8, an electrical power supply 1s1 connected to a heat exchanger, and a co-axial conduit drive-antenna 1s2, 1s3, representing the propulsion system. The core conduit 1s2 is magnetically shielded by a tube 1s4 and there are nose and tail caps 1s5 which are magnetically shielding. The craft also has at least one electromagnetic coil 1s6, 1s7 and directing means 1s15.
