An anchorage device, especially a seat fixture for securing seating movably and removably to floor tracks in a vehicle, has an elongate body 14 with a set of retaining feet 2 at the rear end, a retaining foot 3 at the front end and a drive peg 86 at an intermediate position. The rear retaining feet 2 are in a metal body block 4 along with fasteners 6 for attaching articles such as a seat. The fasteners 6 can be hexagon headed bolts and the feet 2 shaped 23 to allow the bolt heads to be inserted. The body block 4 can be housed within the hollow body tube 14 of the frame which extends forward to house a locking mechanism for the drive peg 86, operable by a pivoted lever 85 to slide the peg 86 through a predetermined distance relative to the feet 2 between a captive position and an insert/removal position. Loading applied to the seat can be focussed on the body block and stresses passed directly to the track through the feet with less stress passing through the tube frame 14.
