A vehicle 1 is provided comprising a deployable closure panel 3 which, in a deployed position, closes an air inlet 5 of a vehicle body so that one edge aligns with an edge of the vehicle body. A method is also provided for deploying and retracting the panel 3 based on the vehicle 1 satisfying a criterion. A control system (50 see fig 2) controls deployment. A radiator grille 13 may be located behind the closed panel. Air flow to a heat-sensitive component such as a radiator or brakes is regulated. Deployment is progressive from the retracted position to the deployed closed position. Closure typically occurs when a threshold is exceeded such as may occur at high speed or at high temperature. The invention is aimed at optimising aerodynamic performance and reduced drag.
