A method 100 of implementing a maintenance schedule for an aircraft (10, Fig 3) with a maintenance system (8, Fig 3) comprising multiple communication terminals (40, Fig 3) located physically about the aircraft and in data communication with each other. The method includes executing 102 a maintenance software program for a maintenance routine comprising maintenance tests corresponding to components (20, Fig 3) of the aircraft and displaying 104 the maintenance routine on at least one of the communication terminals 40 to define a control terminal. Assigning 106 a maintenance test to a communications terminal associated with the corresponding component and upon completion of the test displaying 108 a maintenance routine completion on the control terminal.
