An aircraft mover 10 for transportation of grounded aircraft 40 comprises a wheeled chassis 12, a cabin 16 mounted onto the wheeled chassis 12, the vertical position of the cabin 16 being adjustable and an engine 20 mounted onto the wheeled chassis 12 for providing at least motive force to the aircraft mover 10. An aircraft engagement means 18 is provided for engaging with and lifting a nose landing gear 50 of the aircraft 40. The aircraft engagement means 18 has at least one actuatable engagement element 60 for releasably securing the nose landing gear 50. At least one aircraft interrogation device 70 for identifying the type of aircraft 40 to be engaged by the aircraft mover 10 is mounted on the mover. A processor (78, fig 1) capable of receiving a signal from the, or each, aircraft identification device 70 and a controller (80, fig 1) for controlling a vehicular configuration of the aircraft mover 10 are also provided.
