Various seating systems for a vehicle are disclosed, where the seat 110 is arranged proximal to a rear edge of the vehicle and where in at least some embodiments the seat is deployable beyond the rear edge so that it may be sat on by users located outside of the vehicle. A platform 118 movable between stowed and deployed positions may be provided, said platform providing a footrest for use by the user. Alternatively, or in addition, the seat may form at least part of the load floor of the vehicle when in a closed position. The platform may be concealed by a moveable cover when in the stowed position, and when deployed may also provide a step or means for securing at least one bicycle (figure 2f). The platform may be wirelessly actuated from within the cabin of the vehicle, and may be rotated (figures 3a-d) so as to provide either the bicycle securing means or the step surface. Various combinations of these features are claimed in the independent claims.
