A floor panel 100 suitable for use on a station platform has a substantially planar upper surface 102 and first 104 and second 106 side faces. When panels are placed adjacent to one another to provide a platform surface a reflex external angle is formed between the upper surfaces of the adjacent panels, providing a sloped surface for rainwater run-off without creating a substantial gap between adjacent panels. The reflex angle may be in the range of 181º-182º. The upper surface may include recesses 114 and 116 for receiving a tactile surface and mechanical fixings respectively. The first and second sides may include projections 124 or recesses 122 for engaging corresponding parts on an adjacent panel. The panel may be formed from glass reinforced plastic and may have a hollow structure. Also claimed are a station platform kit and a method of constructing a station platform.
