A modular electric hydro-jet thruster and mounting system with integrated power connectivity for small marine vessels. In the embodiment described, a brushless DC motor 1 is housed within a hydrodynamic cowling 5 but remains exposed to the surrounding ambient fluid, driving a propeller 8 that receives water from the surrounding flow and accelerating it through a nozzle 6. The nozzle and propeller are interchangeable enabling support for alternate hydrodynamic profiles more suited to a particular application. Directional control is achieved by vectoring the angle of the thruster. The thruster is mounted to a base mounting block 10 by means of anchoring pins 9 that are engaged by rotating cam locks 11.
