A dehumidifier 14 comprises a first channel 32 for transporting air at a first pressure, a second channel 30 for transporting air at a second pressure lower than the first pressure. A graphene oxide barrier separated the first and second channels, and the lower pressure air in the second channel draws water vapour out of the air in the first channel. The first and second channels may be elongate, concentric tubes within one another or may be helical. The wall of the first channel (tube) comprises the graphene barrier and may be a membrane permeable to water and water vapour, but impermeable to other fluids and air. The dehumidifier may be used in an inerting system of an aircraft. The inerting system may comprise an electricity generating fuel cell 12 producing oxygen depleted air (ODA) containing moisture that passes along the first channel. Upon moisture removal from the ODA and cooling by air from outside the aircraft the ODA is communicated to a fuel tank 16 via a regulating valve 48 to reduce the flammability of the fuel 18 in the fuel tank. The removed moisture from the ODA is collected in a tank 44.
