A stabilization system and method for an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) (fig 1, 100) carrying a payload 2414. A housing body houses control circuitry of the UAV. One or more rotors 2402, 2404, 2406, 2408 are arranged around the housing body 2410 to power flight of the UAV. One or more sliding guides are provided at the housing body. A movable attachment point (fig 29, 2908) is slidably connected to the sliding guide(s) (fig 29, 2805) of the housing body. One or more sensors are capable of sensing displacement of the movable attachment point and generating a signal relating to the displacement and to transmit it to the control circuitry. The control circuitry is arranged, in response to receiving the signal relating 0 to the displacement, to analyse the signal and to output a control signal for adjusting rotor speeds 1 of one or more of the rotors so as to stabilize a payload carried by the UAV. The housing body may include two sliding guides crossing one another and that intersect at a central region of the housing body. The sliding guides may be perpendicular to one another. A corresponding method is also disclosed.
