A rigid inflatable boat 1000 comprises a hull comprising a stern 1005, two inflatable tubes 1001, 1002 on opposing sides of the boat, each inflation tube comprising a terminal portion 1003, 1004 at the aft end of the tube and a buoyant structure 1050 being located at the stern and mounted relative to the hull so as to increase the buoyancy of the boat. The buoyant structure comprises a sealable powertrain container housing a drive mechanism 104 for driving the boat and side portions 1051, 1052 on opposing sides of the container. Each side portion envelops one of the terminal portions of the inflatable tubes. Also disclosed is a boat having a hull comprising a stern and a base and a rigid brace (402, Fig 4) attached between the stern and the base of the hull. Also disclosed is a boat having a hull with a transom (800, Fig 8a) and a force structure attached to the transom, where the force structure is attached by means of a mounting arrangement incorporating bushes (805, Fig 8b) and threaded studs (808, Fig 8b).
