Charging management for a worksite having plural autonomous electric work vehicles 130, 140, 150 involves scheduling charging for each vehicle and includes communication of charger properties from plural charging modules 110, 120 a central controller 200 and communication of vehicle properties from the vehicles to the central controller. Scheduling of charging for the plural vehicles is based on the charger properties (location and availability of the charging module) and the vehicle properties (capacity and current state of charge (SOC) of the battery of the vehicle). Each of the vehicles is assigned a designated charging time and a designated one of the charging modules, wherein each vehicle and its designated charging module is brought together at the designated charging time of the vehicle, e.g. directing each vehicle to its designated charging module, or directing the designated charging module to the vehicle. Scheduling may be based on at least one of: a priority assigned to each vehicle; a SOC of the battery of each vehicle; a duration of charging required for each vehicle; a proximity of each vehicle to the charging module; and an available amount of power of the charging module. The availability of the charging module may include an indication of whether the charging module is in use and/or a reservation status of the charging module.
