An aerodrome structure comprises a plurality of modules including a plurality of lift structure modules 100. Each lift structure module comprises an upstanding structure 130, a platform 110 located within the upstanding structure, and a lift mechanism 120 which raises and lowers the platform between levels. The platform provides a take-off and landing pad for a vertical take-off and landing aircraft 500 when the platform is at an upper level. The aerodrome structure further comprises a cargo transit apparatus 140 configured to transfer cargo within the aerodrome structure. The cargo transfer may be between the lift structure modules. The plurality of modules can form a tessellated structure when together. One or more lower levels can comprise a first lower level in which the platform cooperates with one or more of a first level of the cargo transit apparatus, an electric charger 150 for an aircraft, a battery exchange facility or a hydrogen refuelling facility. The assembly can further comprise an access port on an exterior of the assembly, which can provide access to a locker within the assembly. There may be more than one locker, each with its own access port.
