A thermally insulated transport pod 100 for storage and transport of temperature- sensitive products. The transport pod comprises a first product storage space 1010 containing temperature-sensitive products. A first thermal energy device space 1030 holding at least one first thermal energy storage device 134 for absorbing or emitting thermal energy to control a temperature of the first product storage space. A first closure 112 (door) is located on a first side of the transport pod for access to the first product storage space; and a second closure 114 (door) on a second side of the transport pod for access to a second product storage space 1012 or the first product storage space. The thermal energy storage device may be a phase change material and the second side may be opposite the first side. The first and second storage spaces may be spaced from one another by a thermally insulated internal divider 110 and may comprise a plurality of shelf levels (120 , fig 1A) for apertured 1220 shelf plates 122 and whereby each shelf level define lockers with individual closures (fig 7).
