When driving at night on unlit roads drivers can experience a temporary reduction in vision as the pupils react to changes in incident light. The present invention is designed to minimise this temporary reduction in night vision due to changes in incident light, approaching headlights etc. The night driving aid comprises an array of LEDs that provide exposure to low power light radiation at around 480nm (blue/green). The 480nm wavelength is the wavelength at which the pupil is most responsive to preconditioning therefore assisting the driver to visually respond to rapid changes in incident light. The LEDs are deployed in/on the vehicle within the driver’s field of vision but not obstructing their forward or reverse (via the rearview mirror) vision. Additionally, the night driving aid may be worn directly by the driver as an integrated night driving glasses system.
