A tyre deflating stinger 12 that uses lazy tongs (Fig. 1; 3, 4) with spikes (Fig. 1; 5) to deflate the tyres of a moving vehicle from a carrier vehicle. The lazy tongs are deployed by controls or remotely by a drive unit 1 or a motor in a non-linear manner 12, 13, (Fig. 4; 14, 15). The stinger device and drive unit have attachment means to be mounted in the front bumper/undertray (Fig. 1; 11) or the rear bumper of the carrier vehicle. The arms of the lazy tongs may be of equal length but the pivot centres are unequal or offset to allow the tongs to extend with a curved shape. The angle of the mounting device may be varied to allow the deflation device to be deployed to the front or to the side of the carrier vehicle.
