An assembly for mounting a fuel injector on a test bench, to diagnose operation of the injector for low pressure fuel return to the fuel tank, comprises a sleeve 20 adapted to hold the body 55 of the injector and to be placed on a fastening member 30 for fixing to the test bench. The sleeve 20 has an inner profile corresponding to the injector body 55, an outer profile corresponding to a groove (38, fig.3) in the fastening member 30, and a low-pressure fuel outlet (23, fig.2), eg a hole (25) or nozzle (24). The fastening member 30 has a first groove (37, fig.3) to receive a narrow part 51 of the injector body 55, and a second, larger, groove (38) to receive the sleeve 20. O-ring(s) 42 may be provided to adjust clearance between the sleeve 20 and the injector; circlip(s) 41 may be used to prevent the sleeve 20 slipping off the injector body 55. A method of using the assembly is disclosed and claimed.
