The invention relates to a lens (30) that is able to close a housing (20) of an optical unit (10), said lens (30) having an outer face (31) oriented towards the outside of a vehicle (V) when the optical unit (10) is mounted on the vehicle (V), characterized in that the outer face (31) of the lens (30) is designed to have an elongate part (32) integral with the lens (30) and extending beyond the outer face (31) of the lens (30) so as to define a free part (37) projecting from the lens (30), said elongate part (32) being able to be secured to the housing (20) by at least one first frangible fixing element (34) integral with the elongate part (32).
