The method involves defining/determining conditions of electrical supply of a light source (16) based on luminous intensity of detected light rays and/or ambient luminous intensity and/or average luminous intensity of the light rays detected during a period, where the light source includes a function of signaling a vehicle. Light rays propagating in first direction are detected through light sensors (12, 13). The light source is activated by activation units (14, 15), so that light rays propagating along second direction are emitted, where the second direction is opposite to first direction. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a signaling device for a car (2) a computer program comprising a set of instructions to operate a signaling device of a car (3) a data recording medium comprising a set of instructions to operate a signaling device of a car.
