The invention relates to a method which involves an internal source of irreversible power and an internal source of reversible power (1). The internal source of reversible power (1) can be recharged by directly or indirectly drawing on the internal source of irreversible power and by adding a finite amount of reversible power from an external source. The method involves performing, at least until the added finite amount has been exhausted, a first function (a) which controls a power supply from the internal source of reversible power (1) so as to ensure an intrinsic gain with a positive value.
