The present disclosure provides a control method for a gimbal. The gimbal includes an arm assembly. The arm assembly is configured to carry a load device. The arm assembly includes at least one arm and a motor that controls the arm to rotate. The control method includes, in response to the gimbal being in an unloaded mode, controlling at least one motor to cause the arm assembly to be in a first attitude, and in response to a push-pull operation on the arm assembly, controlling at least one motor to maintain the arm assembly in the current attitude when the push-pull operation is removed from the arm assembly. The arm assembly can maintain the current attitude. In the technical solution of embodiments of the present disclosure, by controlling the motor of the gimbal in the unloaded mode, the operation complexity of the gimbal can be reduced, and the user experience can be further improved.
