Control circuitry (50) for a vehicle (1) that is configured to perform stop control of an internal combustion engine (E) therein is configured to: stop the internal combustion engine (E) in response to determining based on information indicating a predetermined vehicle state that a predetermined stop condition is satisfied; prevent the internal combustion engine (E) from stopping in response to determining based on the information indicating the vehicle state that the stop condition is satisfied, but determining that a protection condition for a heat generating part (20) that generates heat at the start of the internal combustion engine (E) is satisfied; and in response to determining that a traveling speed of the vehicle (1) reaches a predetermined speed threshold, change the protection condition such that the protection condition becomes more difficult to be satisfied than before the traveling speed of the vehicle (1) reaches the speed threshold.
