A method is provided for component management. During this method, a first output signal is received from a first aircraft system (20A) at a component management system (22). The first aircraft system (20A) includes a first engine (26A) and a first component (24A) installed in the first engine (26A). The first output signal communicates identification data for the first engine (26A) and a first operating parameter for the first engine (26A). A first component parameter for the first component (24A) is determined based on the identification data for the first engine (26A) and the first operating parameter for the first engine (26A). A record for the first component (24A) is updated in the component management system (22) using the first component parameter for the first component (24A).
