The invention relates to a method and a device for controlling an air-conditioning device (1) which air-conditions the interior (15) of a vehicle (120). According to the method, the air-conditioning device (1) is controlled by a control device (30) in order to air-condition the interior (15) of the vehicle (120) using the control process. In order to improve the operation of the air-condition device (1), a computing device (10, 110) forms a model using an artificial neural network (32), said model being designed to ascertain a control variable to be output by the control device (30) using influence variables (2) which have an influence on the air-conditioning of the interior (15). A computer program which represents the model is used (E) on the control device (30) in order to control the air-conditioning device (1).
