The invention relates to a system for controlling a hybrid powertrain of a motor vehicle comprising a set of computing means (1, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 25) and a switch (24) which are configured to: - determine the operating point and the overall consumption of the powertrain, and a raw torque setpoint of the combustion engine; - determine a gradient of an equivalence factor according to the consumption of the powertrain; - determine a gradient of a torque at the crankshaft according to the target torque required at the wheel and the gear ratio; - determine the minimum and maximum values of the combustion engine torque gradient according to the gradient of the equivalence factor and the gradient of the torque at the crankshaft and the tables; - determine an optimal torque setpoint according to the raw torque setpoint and the minimum and maximum values of the combustion engine torque gradient.
