The invention relates to a charging station (1) for charging and/or discharging an energy store (2) of an electric vehicle (3) with electrical energy by means of a single-phase or multiphase grid which can be coupled to the charging station (1). The charging station (1) has a housing (8) comprising an inner space (9), in which a plurality of electrical and/or electronic components (200-700), a cooling device (10) for cooling the inner space (9) and a control unit (11) for controlling the cooling device (10) are located. The control unit (11) is designed to control the cooling device (10) for cooling the inner space (9) depending on a model (M) for modelling a temperature development of the inner space (9) of the charging station (1).
