An aircraft system (20) includes a propulsor rotor (22) and a powerplant (24) configured to drive rotation of the propulsor rotor (22). The powerplant (24) includes a turbine section (36), a flowpath (40), a first fuel system (44) and a second fuel system (46) fluidly independent of the first fuel system (44). The turbine section (36) includes a turbine rotor (54). The flowpath (40) extends through the turbine section (36) from an inlet (66) into the flowpath (40) to an exhaust (68) from the flowpath (40). The first fuel system (44) is configured to direct first fuel into the flowpath (40) between the inlet (66) and the turbine rotor (54). The second fuel system (46) is configured to direct second fuel into the flowpath (40) between the inlet (66) and the turbine rotor (54).
