A rail profile (10; 30) for attaching seats and/or cargo in an aircraft is provided by creating a dry preform of the rail profile (10; 30) which is made of reinforcement fibers (16). A pultrusion process is performed, in which the preform is impregnated and/or infused with a thermoplastic or duroplastic matrix material and formed into its final shape. Metallic inserts (11) designed for the attachment of seats (40) and/or cargo are applied into the dry fiber preform prior to the pultrusion process, or into the finally formed and cured profile (10; 30).
