Proposed is a charging station (1) for charging and/or discharging an energy store (2) of an electric vehicle (3) with/of electric energy by means of a polyphase supply system (4) that can be coupled to the charging station (1), the charging station (1) comprising: an AC-to-DC converter (400) which can be coupled to a number of phases (L1, L2, L3) of the polyphase supply system (4); a DC link (500) which is connected downstream of the AC-to-DC converter (400) and includes a number of DC link capacitors (501, 502) which are connected between a positive output conductor (401) and a negative output conductor (402) of the AC-to-DC converter (400); and a DC-to-DC converter (600) which is connected downstream of the DC link (500) and includes a first half bridge (H1) connected to the positive output conductor (401) as well as a second half bridge (H2) connected to the negative output conductor (402), the center tap (M1) of the first half bridge (M2) and the center tap (M2) of the second half bridge (H2) being connected via a choke (605).
