The disclosure relates to technical field of vehicle, in particular to a vehicle control method and apparatus, a vehicle, a storage medium and a chip. The vehicle control method includes: monitoring (S11) an acceleration of target obj ect in front of a vehicle, in which a moving direction of the target object is in a same direction as the moving direction of the vehicle; detecting (S12) an obstacle in front of the vehicle, in which the obstacle is a static obstacle, or a dynamic obstacle that is moving in a different direction than the moving direction of the vehicle; reducing (S13) a current transmission ratio of the vehicle to a target transmission ratio under at least one of a condition that the acceleration of the target object in front of the vehicle meets a preset condition and a condition that the obstacle is detected in front of the vehicle.
