The invention relates to a propulsion device (1) for rotating a propulsor to propel a marine vessel. The propulsion device (1) includes a drive housing (2) having a cavity (40) that extends along a first central axis (46). A motor (130) is positioned within the cavity (40). The motor (130) rotates a shaft (154) extending along a second central axis (162) that is non-coaxial with the first central axis (46). The shaft (154) is configured to rotate the propulsor to propel the marine vessel.
