The invention relates to a device for automatically checking the service state of a parachute system for a flying drone. The device comprises an electrical actuator (40) for the deployment mechanism (50) of the parachute (60) and a resistive test branch (401) comprising a test resistor (402) which has a predetermined resistance value and which is mounted in series with a test switch (403). The test branch is connected in parallel with the actuator switch (42) and the test resistor (402) is selected to generate a test current (l_test) lower than the activation current of the actuator (l_40) when the operating voltage (U) is applied and when the actuator (40) is being short-circuited.
