A hybrid electric architecture (2) for a vehicle (1) include an internal combustion engine (5), a first electric machine (6), a planetary gear (8), a transmission (9) with an input shaft (10) and an output shaft (11), where the planetary gear (8) includes a first member, a second member, and a third member each defined by one of a sun gear (12), a ring gear (13), and a planet carrier (14), and further including: first mechanical elements (16, 17, 18) connecting the first member, the second member, and the third member respectively to the engine (5), the first electric machine (6), and the input shaft (10); a second electric machine (7) distinct from the first electric machine (6); second mechanical elements (20) connecting the second electric machine (7) to the transmission (9); and a control unit (ECU) for controlling the engine (5), the first electric machine (6), and the second electric machine (7).
