The present invention relates to a docking mechanism (100), an elevator shaft module, and an elevator system. The elevator shaft module and elevator system includes the docking mechanism (100). The docking mechanism (100) comprises a first docking element (110) having a first adjusting element (111); and a second docking element (120) having a second adjusting element (121), wherein the first docking element (110) is adapted to dock the second docking element (120) in an adjustable manner, and wherein the first adjusting element (110) is adapted to engage the second docking element (120), such that a docking position between the first docking element (110) and the second docking element (120) is changeable by adjusting one of the first adjusting element (111) and the second adjusting element (121).
