A wall (20) for a heated faceplate (10) includes a base (30A; 30D) and tines (32A; 32D) protruding from the base (30A; 30D) and spaced from each another. The tines (32A; 32D) are configured to accumulate ice in a manner which promotes shedding of small ice formations to prevent large accumulations of ice father aft on the faceplate (10).
