The method comprises providing alternating current (AC) electric power to a first electric motor (204A) to drive a first rotating propulsor (206A), providing the first electric motor (204A) with AC electric power from at least one motor inverter (208A, 208B; 308) operatively coupled to a direct current (DC) power source (210), detecting a failure in a path to the first electric motor (204A), and selectively rearranging a first switching arrangement (314A, 314C, 314D) between the generator (202), the at least one motor inverter (208A, 208B; 308), and the first electric motor (204A).
