The invention relates to a method for detecting a slip of a wheel of a vehicle, in which at least one rotational speed sensor is assigned to the wheel, and in which the method is carried out by means of a control unit of the vehicle. The method comprises the following steps: 1) detecting the rotating speed of a wheel through at least one rotating speed sensor; 2a) generating a first signal for a rotational acceleration of the wheel by means of the control unit, wherein the rotational acceleration of the wheel is determined as a function of the detected rotational speed; 2b) generating a second signal for a rotational jerk of the wheel by means of the control unit, wherein the rotational jerk of the wheel is determined as a function of the determined rotational acceleration; 3a) monitoring whether the first signal exceeds a first threshold value; 3b) monitoring whether the second signal exceeds a second threshold value; 4) if the first threshold value is exceeded by the first signal and the second threshold value is exceeded by the second signal, generating a positive detection signal that recognizes a slip of the wheel by means of the control unit.
