In one embodiment, a method for managing cognitive load while driving is disclosed. The method comprises: computing a first cognitive load associated with a first driver based on data received via one or more sensors, wherein the first driver and the one or more sensors are associated with a first vehicle; receiving a second cognitive load that is associated with a second driver of a second vehicle; and, in response to the second cognitive load, modifying a driving task or a secondary task that may distract the first driver.
