A vehicle battery power control method and device, the vehicle battery power control method comprising: detecting the actual required power of a vehicle and the duration of the actual required power (S11); and according to the actual required power, a first battery charging and discharging power, and a second battery charging and discharging power and/or the duration of the actual required power, controlling the output power of a battery, the first battery charging and discharging power being less than the second battery charging and discharging power (S12). The described vehicle battery power control method and device may use a high charging and discharging power for power distribution, thereby increasing the usable power of the entire vehicle, and improving power performance without causing overcharging and over-discharging of power.
