The invention concerns an automatic glass-breaking device comprising a needle activated by a pyrotechnic charge. The device comprises a base plate having an outer surface suitable for being bonded to a pane of glass, the base plate being extended on the opposite surface by a cylindrical cage defining a tubular cavity inside which the tubular end of a pyrotechnic component is inserted comprising, in its rear part, a pyrotechnic charge and, in its front part, the needle having a conical end with an angle of between 20° and 70°, the pyrotechnic charge producing, upon detonation, energy of between 50 and 250 bars in less than one millisecond.
